We offer four 7 week class sessions each year beginning in January, March, May and September. Classes are held on Wednesday evenings at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds in Sonora, with the exception of Agility. View our Class Schedule page for the dates of upcoming classes.

PUPPY – Designed for the socialization and early training of puppies approximately 9-18 weeks old. We use the American Kennel Club’s S.T.A.R. Puppy program and incorporate free play with short training exercises to get your puppy off to the best start. Puppy class is offered during all four sessions. BASIC OBEDIENCE – An introductory class ideal for all dogs at least 5-6 months old. Basic obedience and all aspects of the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen test are introduced and practiced to help your dog become a socialized, well mannered family member.
For those interested, a Canine Good Citizen test will be offered by the club two times per year, dates to be announced.

INTERMEDIATE OBEDIENCE – This class builds on the obedience exercises from the Basic class with an emphasis on greater precision and response. Intermediate is an excellent start for anyone considering competitive obedience or rally. Intermediate is offered when there is sufficient interest. Requires prior completion of a basic obedience class.

RALLY – A fun class for dog and owner alike! Rally is offered for Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced levels. Rally exercises are introduced for all levels and the class is an excellent way to improve communication between you and your dog. The class is appropriate for anyone interested in competing or just wanting more training fun with their dog. Offered all four sessions. Requires prior completion of a basic obedience class. AGILITY – Offered for Beginning, Intermediate and Competition, (Advanced,) levels in Spring and Fall. Agility classes are 8 weeks in length and held adjacent to the Humane Society of Tuolumne County building in Jamestown. You will be introduced to the safe execution of all agility obstacles in Beginning with more advanced techniques for Intermediate and Advanced. Requires prior completion of a basic obedience class. CONFORMATION – A handling class to prepare you and your dog for the conformation show ring. Class is taught by our guest instructor, Jeff Heim, and offered when he is available and there is sufficient interest. You will learn proper presentation of your dog as well as ring procedure. Class is open to all ages and breeds. There is a minimum of six students required.
