Agenda:

President’s Report – Linda

Board meeting set for Tuesday, September 23 at 6:00 PM at Linda’s house to discuss class attendance, Holiday dinner, and AKC report on seminar.

September Howler – minutes, etc. will be combined with the next issue. Minutes are on line.

A big "Thank You" for all those that worked at the September Trial.

Secretary’s Report – Cherie

No report.

Treasurer’s Report – Fred

The accounting sheet was unavailable this month.

The preliminary AKC Trial profit is about $800.

Round Robin – AKC Agility Trial

Raffle – a. A big success, went over very well. b. Should start ahead about 120 days before the event to approach merchants. c. Need formal letter from President to present to merchants.

Score Table – a. Only one problem, getting Performance classes to work, but problem has been solved now. B. Thanks to Linda for the use of her new motorhome, it was cool, comfortable, and inaccessible to competitors.

Hospitality – a. Had the correct amount of food this year. B. Sandwich vendor worked better this year, Savemart.

Sales – a. Sold a number of shirts. B. Maybe will have it at the raffle booth next year.

Education – Need club applications, class schedules, and information at check-in or hospitality.

Equipment – a. Sand in trailers. b. Need a rake, shovel, ladder, and better claws for pulling up the large nails to be added to trailer. C. Newly painted equipment was great.

Grounds – a. "RV Host" for fairgrounds was a pain. Already taken care of. b. See about grassy area for exercising dogs.

Workers – a. Fred needs an assistant to handle his workers when he is in the ring working.

Update on Big Show

Premium List is out and available.

Already have 3 vendors.

One judge’s assignment needs to be changed.

Only discussion at the October meeting will be the Big Show.

Need to firm up assignments, accommodations, setup times, parking assignments, etc.

Committee Reports:

Basic Obedience – Linda

Have 15 in class, will take this week off, will start up next week with Lesson #5.

Intermediate and Puppy - Cherie

Have 13 very active puppies in Puppy Class and 8 enthused dogs in Intermediate Class.

 

Agility Classes – Linda

Have 4 in Beginning and 2 in Intermediate. Won’t start new classes until April, weather permitting.

Sunshine – Holly

No report.

Trophies – Holly

No report.

Membership Solicitor – Mary

No report.

Membership Coordinator – Pat

No report.

Publicity – Sydney

Was commended by all because of great coverage in Democrat.

Education –

None, will present ideas at next meeting.

Historian/Librarian – Cherie

Lots of pictures and articles for the scrapbook.

Sydney & Tess – Novice Preferred 1st place and Title, and Novice JWW 1st place and Title.

Linda & Pandi –

Linda & Dexi -

Jim & Emmy – CPE Trial at VAST Sept. 13 & 14 – 5 Q’s – Level 1 Standard Title, 1st place in Jackpot and Standard, 2nd place in Fullhouse, and 3rd place in Wildcard.

Pat Barnes & Dexter – he did not leave fairgrounds during his runs, he stayed close to rings. Dexter was on the cover of the Democrat.

Jo-Ann & Sunshine – was on the cover of the Weekender.

Mary & Fella – in August 3rd place and Standard Q, in September at our Trial, 3rd place and Q in Novice Standard for Title, 4th place and Q in Novice JWW.

Cherie & Moon – top ranking in ASCA Agility for June 2002 to June 2003.

Cherie & Mori – ranked 24th in Nation for ASCA Agility. In Altered Conformation 2 - 1st Open Black, 2 - Reserve Winners Dog, 2 - Winners Dog, 2 - Best of Winners, 1 - Best of Breed, with more points.

Bruce & Velvet - #2 Dobie Bitches, #4 Working Group, #16 All Breeds.
