President’s Report – Linda:

Read letters/Emails received from Judges thanking the Club.

Read letter from Jennifer Welser, DVM, regarding eye clinics/CERF Testing, Linda will follow up on this.

Read letter from K-Nines on Canvas.

Eukanuba posters to share and post were given to members.

Breeder’s Directory was discussed. Other Clubs have been contacted and are having trouble putting one together also. We hope some help comes from AKC.

Upcoming dates for 2004 Club Events are:

a. June 12-13, 2004 – NADAC/ASCA/AMBOR Agility Trial, Summerville High School. NADAC has given approval. One Judge, Ken Perlmutter has been booked. Tunnelers will be run on Saturday afternoon. The cost for the field is $50 a day, plus bathroom cleaning costs. We will have a Port-a-Potty on the field.

b. September 11-12, 2004 – AKC Agility Trial – Standard Park which will cost about ½ of the Fairgrounds. Fred is working out the details. The Park and Rec Department really wants us to have a Trial there.

c. November 6-7, 2004 – AKC All Breed Show – Mother Lode Fairgrounds.

Holiday Dinner – Peppery Gar and Brill, December 15th. There will be a gift exchange, with the gift preferably dog related of about $20, per person that wants to participate. Cost will be $12.50 per member, $7.50 Family Member child, and $20 guests.

2004 Dues are due January 1, 2004 - $15 single, $20 Family.

2004 Meeting Hosts – there are several openings that need to be filled.

Trailers/ Agility Equipment – all of it has been removed from Lindsay’s. The trailers are at the Humane Society’s storage. The agility equipment is either in the trailers or in the now very full storage uni

Secretary’s Report – Cherie:

Now has a Club copier at her house.

Treasurer’s Report – Fred:

The Club’s Total Assets are $83,358.68.

Tentative Big Show profit as of this date $2068.23.

2003 Income Statement as of this date a loss of $6,437.36.

We need to pursue ways to cut costs. The Board will go into that at a later meeting.

Committee Reports:

Obedience – Linda: Classes are starting on January 14, 2004 in the Manzanita Building at the Fairgrounds. At 4:30 will be Rally with Cherie, at 5:30 will be CGC/Basic with Linda, Bruce, Fred, Sydney, Carol, also at 5:30 will be Puppy with Cherie.

Conformation – Linda: Still not firmed up with Ken and Charlene, we need to know how many will be attending.

Agility – Linda/Cherie: Nothing planned for classes in April yet. Cherie has set up with Aloha Kennels outside of Angles Camp for a session on November 22. Cost will be $5 a dog. Weather permitting.

Membership – Pat H.: Renewals are due January and are delinquent after that date.

Publicity – Sydney: Good coverage of show but with wrong venue picture.

Sunshine – Holly: No report.

Critique of the Big Show:

Committees:

Judges – Linda: Everything went well. Wish we could have them all back.

Vendors – Linda: The coffee vendor backed out, there were many requests for coffee. Won’t invite him again. Four vendors need to be billed.

Obedience – Cherie: All went very well this year.

Hospitality – Pat: Over bought, didn’t know most of the Judges would be on the Atkins Diet.

Flowers – Nancy: Scaled back this year, but worked out well.

Grounds/Ring Setups/Breakdown/Cleanup – Fred/Bruce: Freds crew a big help. Not many problems.

Parking Setup – Bruce: Joaquin did come to help.

Parking Attendants/Catalog Sales – Mary/Jo-Ann: They both learned a new trade and had a good time. They related several stories about their adventures.

Trophies/ Judges Gifts – Holly: No report from Holly.

Pat said all the Judges and competitors loved their bags.

Old Business: None.

New Business: Nominations from the floor for the Board position. There were none.

Brags:

Jim and Emmy – Competed at Starfleet for a CPE Judge’s Clinic. Emmy got 4 first places.

Linda and Pandi – At Starfleet, NADAC/ASCA she got 4 1st places, 3 Veteran Open Regular, 1 Veteran Open Jumpers.

Linda and Dexi – At Starfleet he got 4th in Open Standard 20+. Showed picture of Dexi in the Aussie Journal for First Place Year End Award in Open Standard.
