General Membership Meeting – May 28, 2002 President Linda Grant called the meeting of the Sierra-Tuolumne Kennel Club to order at 6:15 pm. This months meeting was held at the home of Lindsay Stark in Jamestown Members present were: Linda Grant, Cherie Gessford, Lindsay Stark, Ann Brown, Fred & Pat Helmbold, Bruce Bertholf, Sydney Seiver, Nancy Wyllie, Charlene Bertelli, Mark Azevedo, Mary & Al Kennedy SECRETARY’S REPORT-Lindsay: Requesting everyone’s help to update our breeders referral directory. We need to start from scratch and I would like to only list breeders that we personally know are reputable. Please send all information to Lindsay at petlover15@earthlink.net First reading for potential new member Lesa O’shea TREASURER’S REPORT-Fred: Fred is hoping to have a binder available at next months meeting so that all reports will be available to those who wish to see them. The books are reconciled through April 1. COMMITTEE UPDATES OBEDIENCE, BASIC-Linda: New classes started on May 29th. There are 10 students OBEDIENCE, PUPPY-Lindsay: See above. Also has 10 students AGILITY-Linda: Graduation is Thursday 6/6. It was M/S/P by Bruce and Pat that there be a BB-Q for agility graduation just like obedience. SUNSHINE-Holly: No report HISTORIAN-Cherie: 1 new article from the paper about the elections Constitution/Bylaws-Lindsay: The Constitution received Board approval on May 7 and was mailed to all voting members. It will be discussed at the June meeting and voted on at the August meeting. Please be sure to attend these very important meetings. TROPHY-Holly: All ribbons for the NADAC trial are in and donations are still being taken for November trophy’s. UPCOMING EVENTS
NADAC/ASCA TRIAL June 8&9-Lindsay: Set up on Friday will begin at 8:30. Fred will have his crew there to get the big stuff going. Come anytime to help. All volunteers, please be at the fairgrounds by 6:30 am both Saturday and Sunday. All workers get lunch and are welcome to come to the judges dinner. AKC TRIAL Sept. – Linda: No report BIG SHOW November-Linda: It was discovered that the paperwork was not submitted to AKC for this event. Linda and Bruce were able to complete the needed documents and it was submitted just a little late.
BRAGS CLUB BRAG: All members dogs who took part in the ATTS test passed. Congratulations to Dexi, Mori, Sebastian, Tobey, Tess, Holly Brown and Holli Martlew. Sydney and Miles (Border Collie): received his ILP and completed intermediate obedience Ann and Holly (Golden Retriever): Holly is probably a mom to be Linda and Dexi (Aussie): Received a 4thd place in conformation at the Aussie Nationals. Also passed the herding instinct test. Cherie and Mori (Aussie): Finished his CD, passed herding instinct test at the Aussie nationals. Ranked 1st in the nation in Excellent A. Cheri and Moon (Aussie): Ranked 13th in Nation and is the only veteran dog. Lindsay and Becca (PWC): Finished her open standard title at the Aussie Nationals and went 4 for 4. We suspect that she is just as fast as Tobey these days! Lindsay and Tobey (PWC): Almost there, she is staying in the ring and listening to her handler. Nancy Wyllie: Purchased 2 acres in Columbia and getting ready to build a new house Bruce and Velvet (Doberman): Took Group 1 on Sunday at Pomona. Is ranked 11th in the Nation against all dogs. Has defeated 1510. VEVET WINS BEST IN SHOW on Saturday at Pomona. This is a first for our club and was the first owner/handler to ever win at this show. It was M/S/P by Bruce/Fred to adjourn at 8:05 pm. Next months meeting will be at the home of Mark and Holly in Twain Harte
