General Meeting Minutes

May 21, 2001

Club President Stu Galka called this month’s meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Lindsay Stark hosted the meeting at her home in Jamestown.

Members present were: Stu and Sherry Galka, Linda Grant, Cherie Gessford, Sydney Seiver, Ann Brown, Fred & Pat Helmbold, Jim & Jo Mitchell, Carol & Gordon Biederman, Mary & Holly Azevedo, Nancy Wyllie, Sharlene Reed and Minou Alexander.

Guests present: Patti Martlew (Aussie); Al & Mary Kennedy (Golden Retriever) and Christiana Kerns (Shiloh Shepherd)

Members presented unanimously voted Patti, Al & Mary and Christiana into the club. Welcome!

President’s Report – Stu: The Therapy Dog Group of STKC was the proud winner of a 1^st place trophy from the recent Mother Lode Round-Up parade.

Each participant will receive a ribbon, and the Club will receive a plaque.

Treasurer’s Report – Sherry: A new copier has been ordered and is coming. This copier will be attached to her PC so that she can fax and print directly to it.

Secretary’s Report – Linda: Thank you to everyone who came out for the May 5^th work party. [Stu, Sherry, Cherie, Jim, Jo, Bruce, Gordon, Patti, Sydney, Dorothy, Fred, Pat, and Gary Cowley] There will be a Board of Director’s meeting on June 14 at 5:00 p.m. Potluck will follow.

Agility – Linda: Graduation will be June 7^th. FunRuns still ongoing.

Education – Carol: The June 18^th meeting will be a program with AJ Ford and his Narc dog (I sure can’t wait to find out this dog’s name!) There was discussion regarding donating a vest.

Publicity – Sydney: has contacted KCRA, Stockton Bee, radio stations, Union Democrat regarding the agility trial.

Sunshine – Jo: sent a card to Sharlene

ASCA/NADAC Agility Trial –

Setup will be Friday, June 8^th. Fred’s Probation Dept crew will be assisting again this year. Everyone’s committee reported back as being ready. Saturday morning set up at 6:00 a.m.

AKC Agility Trial – Sherry: the premiums will be available at our show.

AKC Conformation/Obedience show – Sherry: Get your donations into Lindsay

American Temperment Test Society (ATTS) /CGC test – next April. More to come from Sherry

Sherry & Schoena (GSD): have their ATTS Temperament Test degree and has Therapy Dogs International, Inc. Active (TDIA) title

Ann & Holly (Golden Retriever): VCD2 title from AKC, has 3 more UDX legs (7 total)

Cherie & Mori (Aussie): have two more titles in agility

Cherie & Moon (Aussie): getting closer to the 1,000 points needed for Lifetime award from NADAC.
