General Membership Meeting – July 15, 2002

 

President Linda Grant called the meeting of the Sierra-Tuolumne Kennel Club to order at 6:15 pm .  This months meeting was held at the home of Bruce Bertholf in Twain Harte.

 

Members present were: Linda Grant, Cherie Gessford, Lindsay Stark, Ann Brown, Fred & Pat Helmbold, Bruce Bertholf, Mary & Al Kennedy, Patti Martlew, Mary Antinetti, Sharlene Craig.

 

 

PRESIDENT’S REPORT-Linda: 

 

SECRETARY’S REPORT-Lindsay:  premiums were shared and Linda mailed the certificates to Humane Society for classes.

 

TREASURER’S REPORT-Fred:  Profit and Loss statements thru 6/30/02 .

 

COMMITTEE UPDATES

 

OBEDIENCE, BASIC-Linda:  Due to the date change, only 2 students were able to make graduation.  The rest of the students will come to the next graduation.  Classes start 8/7

 

OBEDIENCE, PUPPY-Lindsay:  12 puppies graduated, all 12 were microchipped by Molly

 

AGILITY-Linda:  Small basic class, intermediate class, and fun runs all going well.

 

SUNSHINE-Holly:  A condolence card was sent to Barbara Broad. Her daughter was killed in an auto accident.

 

PUBLICITY:  Flyers for new classes have been sent and the class has been listed in the Democrat.

 

Constitution/Bylaws-Lindsay: The Constitution was accepted by a unanimous vote.  They will now be sent to AKC for their approval

 

TROPHY-Holly: All ribbons have been ordered for the Sept. AKC agility trial.

 

UPCOMING EVENTS

 

AKC TRIAL Sept. – Lindsay: We are about ½ full

 

BIG SHOW November-Linda: Things are moving along.  We are working on judges travel arrangements and the premium/catalog printing.  Sharlene Craig found an announcer for us: Tom Williams.

 

 

BRAGS

 

Ann and Holly (Golden Retriever): Holly had 5 puppies and all are wonderful and healthy.

 

Bruce and Velvet (Doberman): She is doing very well with her new handler, but Bruce could not remember all the details, so we will just give a blanket congrats to Velvet.

 

Fred and Maverick ( Bernese MT. Dog) Took 2 1st places in puppy class.  Learned how to swim by accidentally falling in the pool, fortunately he found the steps and got out!

 

Patti and Holli (Aussie) – Finished her open standard title and got 1 ex. Jumpers leg.

 

Patti and Stryder (Aussie) – Got his AKC registration papers

 

Sydney Seiver – Took 82 ribbons out of 90 entries that she had at the Mother Lode Fair.  She had entries in Fine Arts, Arts & Crafts, Plants, Flower Arrangements, Cut Flowers.  She won 1st place in the sweepstakes for Floriculture.  She also helped some children with a horse project that won 1st place and Best in Show.

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO SYDNEY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
