General Membership Meeting – January 20, 2003
President Linda Grant called the meeting of the Sierra-Tuolumne Kennel Club to order at 6:05 pm. This months meeting was held at the home of Cherie Gessford.
Members present were: Linda Grant, Cherie Gessford, Lindsay Stark, Bruce Bertholf, Mary & Al Kennedy, Patti Martlew, Sydney Seiver, Ann Brown, Minou Alexander, Jo Ann Gritz , Jim and Carol Frazier, Fred and Pat Helmbold, Mark and Holly Azevedo
Guests Present: Arlene Proebstine, Rebecca Mastro, Mary Alford
PRESIDENT’S REPORT-Linda: REMINDER DUES ARE DUE
At the board meeting on January 7, the board voted to eliminate alcoholic beverages from the meeting. If the host is agreeable, alcohol may be served with dinner.
We would also like to keep the meetings to 60 minutes, not including brags. We would all like to get to dinner quicker so your cooperation is appreciated.
A sergeant at arms is needed to help keep the group on subject and limit side conversations. Ann Brown was kind enough to accept the position. Please do not make her work to hard.
Fred has taken the lead on making new ring signs and posts. Ours are in dire need of updating.
Richi Moultrop (of the Leonberger club) wrote asking to use the clubs mats for the Leo specialty in Novato, CA. STKC helped them last year with all the ring supplies and some ring crew too.
It was M/S/P Cherie and Al that this not be allowed due to past experience with this club and the equipment being so far away.
SECRETARY’S REPORT-Lindsay: Letters about the Big Show were read. We received a complaint regarding handicapped RV parking. It was concluded that there was a breakdown in communication with the Moose people who help at the front gate and that we need to have handicapped spots marked better and better communication with the gate people is needed.
Breeders Directory: Thanks to many volunteers, we now have a committee to update the breeders’ directory. The groups were divided up and people kindly volunteered to call the breeders that we have listed to update their information. This information will be shared at the next meeting and then I will compile it into a new listing. My hope is to have this project completed by March and then it can be added to our phone directory for everyone.
TREASURER’S REPORT-Fred: Binder should be available next month for all to look at, thereby making the verbal report shorter and no distracting report being handed around the room.
