Board of Directors and Officers Meeting

10/7/02

Members present: Linda Grant, Cherie Gessford, Lindsay Stark, Bruce Bertholf, Mark Azevedo, Ann Brown and Fred Helmbold.

Guests present: Pat Helmbold

President Linda Grant called the meeting to order at 6:05pm.

Agenda Items:

Agility Field Contracts: It was agreed by all that the club would like to eventually have it’s own field and building to be used for training, but for now we have to use what is available. Basic rules were outlined and it was M/S/P by Bruce and Cherie that the club will adopt these general rules as stated below and will not have to pay any fee. The club will pay for the Port-A-Potty.

Golden Rules for STAR training field:

a.) STKC will provide Pet Vacations with a copy of liability insurance that will cover any incidents or accidents while training.

b.) All users must sign a liability waiver.

c.) Basic students are allowed to practice when they wish, but must be supervised by instructors or those designated as qualified by the instructors at all times. Intermediate students may practice unsupervised.

d.) No pre notification is required for people to come and practice.

e.) STKC will have a work party in the spring and fall to take care of the equipment and field.

f.) STKC will pay for the Port-A-Potty

g.) Seminars will be handled on an individual basis.

Insurance Update: Fred has the liability waiver coming and Sportsman is working on the Board insurance.

Member Memorials: M/S/P by Fred and Lindsay that a perpetual plaque will be purchased and hung at the Humane Society with a $500.00 donation being made for members passing.

Bruce shared more information about Bench hearings and Misconduct manuals have been ordered for all board members.

Big Show: All positions were gone over and the following things will be done:
a.) M/S/P by Fred and Bruce to purchase a chalk stripper for up to $150.00

b.) Letters have been sent to the Vets and EMT to confirm their schedule

c.) Junior awards have been ordered from J&J

d.) Judge’s Dinner menu has been done.

e.) We will stay late on Sunday to break down and clean everything. It will be left in the Muir building until Tuesday when Fred’s workers will be available to load the trailer.

New Business:

a.) M/S/P by Linda and Fred to purchase Herding video tapes for the club library.

b.) M/S/P by Cheri and Fred to purchase 8 ½ sets of tunnel snugglers

c.) M/S/P by Fred and Bruce to dispose of the tattoo machine. Fred will take it to the proper authorities.
