General Membership Meeting April 15, 2002 President Linda Grant called the meeting of the Sierra-Tuolumne Kennel Club to order at 6:05 pm. This months meeting was held at the home of Patti and Ed Martlew in Jamestown Members present were: Linda Grant, Cherie Gessford, Lindsay Stark, Ann Brown, Fred & Pat Helmbold, Bruce Bertholf, Sydney Seiver, Nancy Wyllie, Charlene Bertelli, Sharlene Craig President’s Report - Linda: At a special Board meeting held prior to the General Meeting, the Board voted to implement new class fees for all obedience and agility classes. It was M/S/P to implement these new fees by Pat and Bruce. The new fees will be a flat $65.00 for the public and $45.00 for club members. In the event a student does not pass the CGC test, they will be issued a $10.00 gift certificate towards the next class for them to repeat. Next months meeting was rescheduled for Tuesday May 28th at 6:00 pm due to all board members being out of town on our regularly scheduled date. Secretary’s Report - Lindsay: May is pet safety awareness month. Please be sure to check your first aide kits and keep your pets safe in the summer heat. Treasurer’s Report - Fred: Latest reports were made available to those who wished to see them. Breakdowns of instructor fees were presented. Committee Updates Obedience, Basic-Linda: Graduation will be on Wednesday May 1 at 4:30 pm. If you can help, please come at 4:00pm to set up. Molly Mathieson will be there at 5:30pm to do Microchipping. Obedience, Puppy - Lindsay: See above. Agility - Linda: Classes have started at the STAR training field in Jamestown. There are 10 students and the class is going well. Hiking - Minou/Cherie: No report Sunshine - Holly: A get well card was sent to Myndy Bunker for Lady Bug who was attacked by a dog in her yard. A condolence card was sent to Richi who lost his dog Jed and then his mother later that week. Historian - Cherie: No report Therapy Dogs - Sydney/Ann: A list of all the places and contacts that Therapy Dogs are welcome has been compiled and is posted in this issue of the Howler. It will be maintained on the website www.stkc.org Bruce has received the letters he needs to apply to become a certified tester. Publicity - Sydney: Agility classes have been sent to the paper. Upcoming Events ATTS Seminar Sat. April 27 - Linda: Entries are up to 24. Volunteers are needed for key position in order to run the test and to help with Hospitality. Please contact Linda at 533-2276 to volunteer. NADAC/ASCA Trial June 8&9 - Lindsay: Volunteers will be needed. Please contact Lindsay at 984-4034 to volunteer. AKC TRIAL Sept. - Linda: No report Big Show in November-Linda: No report Trophies - Holly: The trophy sheet was passed around, but there are many openings still available. Please contact Holly at 586-2012 to make your trophy donations. New Business none Brags Sydney And Tess (Heeler): received her 1st and 2nd open standard legs in AKC Agility. 3rd. leg and title for Novice Jumpers. Ann And Holly (Golden Retriever): Holly got her MX agility title at the Belgian Trevern trial and 2 more MXJ legs. She needs 2 more. Linda And Dexi (Aussie): Received a 2nd place and a 4th place in open standard in Merced. Cherie And Mori (Aussie): got 4 MX legs and his AXJ title. Also has 2 legs towards his AKC CD title. Cheri and Moon (Aussie): Did very well in Hayward, got 5 Q’s out of 8 runs. Patti And Holly (Aussie): Got a 4th place open standard leg in Merced. Fred And Grindel (Berner): 3rd open bitch on Saturday in Merced. Bruce And Velvet (Doberman): Took Bost of Breed both days in Merced. Sharlene Craig: Has already been promoted to Assistant Manager at her new job. Nancy Wyllie: Son Andrew graduated early from the University of Washington with a B.A. in International Studies. He was commissioned as an officer of the US Navy on March 22nd and accepted into the submarine program. He will report to Charleston S.C. in May for Nuclear Power School. Acceptance in this program comes with a $10,000.00 bonus. It was M/S/P by Bruce/Fred to adjourn at 7:45 pm. Next months meeting will be at the home of Lindsay Stark in Jamestown.
